Mahmud Hasan is the Managing Director of Rising Group, a leading vertically integrated apparel and textile conglomerate in Bangladesh. As the current President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), a role he assumed in June 2025, he drives the sustainable growth and global competitiveness of Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector. With over three decades of entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Hasan founded Rising Fashions Ltd. in 1997. Under his leadership, Rising Group has expanded to employ over 13,000 individuals, achieving an annual turnover of USD 188 million, with exports to the U.S. and EU markets. His strategic vision has integrated spinning, textile production, and knit manufacturing, emphasizing sustainability through initiatives like the Gold-certified Mahmuda Attires Ltd. under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). As BGMEA President, Mr. Hasan fosters strategic partnerships, engaging with global stakeholders such as the U.S. Government representatives and JETRO in 2025 to enhance trade relations. His leadership is defined by a commitment to innovation, ethical practices, and workforce welfare, positioning Rising Group and Bangladesh’s RMG industry as global leaders. Representing Rising Fashions Limited as a director and one of the sponsor directors on the board of Meridian Finance & Investment Ltd., Mr. Hasan brings his visionary leadership and strategic acumen to the financial sector. His enthusiastic contributions to Meridian Finance have been instrumental in shaping its growth trajectory, promoting innovative financing solutions, and reinforcing its commitment to sustainable economic progress in Bangladesh.
